Hot water extraction or “Steam Cleaning”
Steam cleaning is by far the best method for cleaning carpets. It is recommended by all major carpet manufactures to increase the life of your carpets. Some warranties can be voided if you don’t have you carpets professionally cleaned using hot water extraction.
Steam cleaning consists of:
Encapsulation or "Dry Cleaning"
This type of cleaning is used by companies that you'll see advertisements say "dry in an hour". Encapsulation consists of vacuuming your carpet, then spraying a product onto you carpet. They'll then use a rotary machine with a bonnet on the end. The chemical they spray down loosens up dirt and debris in the carpet and the bonnet picks up the loosened particles at goes over the carpet. This method is OK to use in between hot water extractions. This method can be good for removing stains and surface level dirt. The drawback to this method is it doesn't clean down to the bottoms fibers of the carpet. The carpet becomes dirtier faster because the dirt at the bottom of the fibers begins to work its way back to the surface.
Honestly Clean is capable of doing both methods of carpet cleaning. We highly recommend using hot water extraction on a regular basis. To keep you carpets looking fresh and so clean.
